Michia Carmack

Started dancing at the age 8 when she received a scholarship to the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre through an after-school dance program. At age 15, Michia was accepted to Las Vegas Academy of the Arts where she was a dance major. Michia has performed on the Las Vegas Strip with the Nevada Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker, Cirque du Soleil’s “A Choreographers Showcase,” and has serenaded Florence Henderson, Debbie Allen, and Olivia Newton-John for the Las Vegas Black and White Ball. In 2015, Michia was accepted into the Certificate Program at The Ailey School in New York City where she studied Ballet, Horton and Graham based modern, Tap, West African, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. In 2016 she was a part of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s roof breaking and Legacy show. In 2018 Michia was invited to participate in Vogue’s New York Fashion Week’s spring cover music video. Michia has worked with choreographers such as Sandy Jennings, Tyrell Rolle, Darrell Moultrie, Earl Mosley, Terrence Greene, Greer Reed,Raymond Ejiofor and was featured in an episode of Daniel Tiger on PBSkids. In May of 2018 Michia graduated from The Ailey School’s Certificate Program and became the Associate Artistic Director, rehearsal director and a teaching artist for the Hill Dance Academy Theatre.
