Antonia Hall Long, pianist, accompanist and minister of music, is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. She began formal music studies at the Juilliard Preparatory School in New York and continued her studies in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University where she obtained a degree in Fine Arts as a Piano Performance Major.
She is currently and has been, for 25 years, the Minister of Music at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to duties as music minister for St Benedict the Moor Parish, most notably, under her direction, the St. Benedict the Moor Gospel Choir has ministered, performed and collaborated throughout the Pittsburgh tri-state area and the East Coast. Such performances and events have been with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Diocesan Choir, various ecumenical and university choirs, fundraisers workshop presentations and concerts.
The choir also performed the Lion King, an event in Pittsburgh, PA. for Disney Productions, various political inaugurations, Joe Negron’s Mass of Hope with famed guitarist Joe Negri and recently, was the featured choir in the film Concussion.
In addition to duties as Music Minister, Ms. Long continues to accompany, perform and is a workshop presenter around the Pittsburgh area and East Coast.
In 2017, Ms. Long joined HDAT as the accompanist for the advanced Ballet and Pointé classes.
