Hill Dance Academy Theatre is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization located in the Historic Hill District, Pittsburgh, PA.

 

The Mission of Hill Dance Academy Theatre, to develop and train students 3 to 18-year-olds, in Black Dance Traditions, expand knowledge of Black Dance Traditions and develop emerging Dance Artists to sustain Black Dance as an Art form in Black communities.

Bianca Brandon

HDAT Kuumba Residency and Jazz

Bianca is a graduate of Point Park University with a BFA in Dance with a concentration in Jazz and a minor in Broadcasting. Her extensive dance career has included working with choreographers such as; Travis Wall, Dwight Rhoden, Renny Harris and Brian Enos from the Hubbard Street dance company, Kiesha Lalama, Kiki Lucas, Ron Tassone, and many others. She also received a scholarship to Alvin Ailey’s Summer Intensive at Fordham University. For nine months, she was a dancer with Disney Cruise Lines and performed in the show “Frozen” on the Disney Wonder. Since moving back to Pittsburgh, she is dancing with the contemporary company MuRRdance, working as teaching artists with Hill Dance Academy Theatre and with HDAT’s Kuumba Residency with Propel Schools. Bianca is also an Assistant Choreographer for Seton Hill University’s Fall Dance Show along with teaching and choreographing at various studios throughout the region. Her dance career aspirations are pointed to Las Vegas or Los Angeles, where she will study for a masters in broadcasting in hopes of one day becoming a producer for a late-night television show. Her other dreams are to become a backup dancer for Beyoncé or Jennifer Lopez.
